Juan José Ponce Vázquez is an Assistant Professor at The University of Alabama. He is a specialist on colonial Latin American and Caribbean history. Born in Sevilla (Spain), he lives in Tuscaloosa, AL with his wife (the best academic in the family by far), and their two boys. He loves boardgames about pirates, films, and traveling, now more than ever.
