Namaste, My name is Ashutosh. I live in San Francisco, USA. I am a teacher by hobby and a software engineer by profession. The HindiUniversity project began in 2008 with the simple desire to contribute to my community. I started out with teaching Hindi for the Global Language Network (GLN) at George Washington University, as a fun after-work activity. While teaching there, I realized that I could reach thousands of interested students using an online forum. With this seed of an idea, I set up HindiUniversity on YouTube with just a small whiteboard and a simple camera. To my surprise, the response to the videos was incredible. As it turned out, Hindi enthusiasts across the globe had been waiting for something like this to come along, which immersed them in Hindi from the very beginning, without requiring knowledge of the script or the alphabet.
