A 23 year veteran of elementary education, Richard Carpenter spent his first decade as a bilingual/cross-cultural teacher in California, and ended his tenure in the classrooms of Lincoln, Nebraska. After a traumatic personal experience, Richard used writing as a therapeutic vehicle away from the crisis. “My daily breaks to apply pen to paper,” he says, “was instrumental in helping me move away from the darkness of the loss.”
Richard holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of the Pacific. He currently resides in rural Nebraska with his husband, Steve and their dog, Dancer. Together, the trio has restored a 100 year old farmhouse where they have lived since 2014.
