Bill Fisher grew up in Indiana. He is a retired Air Force officer who worked in the communications-electronics and scientific management fields. He retired from a second career as an economic and land development planner. For twelve years he worked for two Indian tribes in New Mexico. Bill received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Purdue University, a Master of Science in Systems Management degree from the University of Southern California, and a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico. Fisher lives with his wife, Vicki, in Sandia Park, New Mexico. Bill's first book, Cruel Road, is an 18th century historical fiction novel set in colonial Pennsylvania during the French and Indian War. It is based on the lives of Bill's actual 6th great grandparents. The novel was a finalist in the 2021 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards for historical fiction and first novel. His second novel, The Price of the Sky, is a crime historical novel based on actual people and events from 1926 to 1940 in Texas and Indiana.
