Anthony Oliveira is a three-time National Magazine and two-time GLAAD award-winning author, film programmer, pop culture critic, and PhD living in Toronto. His work is in a myriad of genres, often incorporating queer themes, and spans comics, prose, journalism, and academic research. His first novel, Dayspring, is forthcoming from Strange Light in 2024, and his YA graphic novel project Apocrypha is announced from Harper Alley. A writer of prose fiction, graphic novels, essays, and journalism, he is also a recurring contributor to Marvel Comics (on the X-Men, Captain Marvel, and Young Avengers, for which his work has won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book), the host of the Revue Cinema’s Dumpster Raccoon Film Programme, a frequent guest on CBC's The National Pop Panel and host for TIFF red carpets and special events.
