Cisco Bradley grew up near Madison, Wisconsin. He began traveling and writing in 1998, visiting and living in a range of places including Ireland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Ethiopia, Denmark, Mexico, and many other places in between, each of which made some imprint upon his way of perceiving the world. He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an associate professor of history at the Pratt Institute, where he has taught since 2011. His writing focuses on the intersection of social networks, cultural production, space, displacement, and solidarity as they manifest in human resistance struggles against global, hegemonic power structures. He is fascinated by all kinds of avant-garde art, especially music, and is continuously riveted by products of the human imagination.
