Steven Durand Jr.

Steven is a doctoral student studying psychology as it relates to consciousness and embodied human experiences. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Steven learned very early on the complexities of life. Death, hardship, and tragedy were elements he encountered at a very early age. These themes would follow throughout his life, an element he later attributed to developing his fascination for the human mind. While dark elements shaped his research and career interests, they were deeply impactive to his personal psychology. Such an impact has led to Steven battling Major Depressive Disorder since he was a child. His research interests include Phenomenology, Humanistic Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Cognitive Psychology. Steven has shared with many his belief that service to others is the fundamental meaning of his life. As such, Steven utilizes insights from academia and intrinsically held empathy from his personal life to help others in professional and personal settings.
