I am a Clinical Endocrinologist practicing in Chicago IL for past 20 years.
I completed Internal medicine training at Loyola university Hospital in Chicago in year 2003. I did fellowship in Endocrinology Diabetes and metabolism & Nutrition at the Rosalind Franklin university of health sciences in 2005. I am a fellow of American college of Endocrinology. I serve as the medical director for Endocrinology in my institution, supervising the Diabetes education and nutrition department in addition to my clinic. I am also responsible for generating and updating all Endocrine protocols for the hospital. I serve as the subspecialty representative on the peer review board for my hospital.
My primary interest has been in the area of Diabetes and Obesity. outside of my practice my keen interest in community work has led me to serve as the president of several nonprofit organizations, through which I have developed strong leadership skills. I enjoy writing articles and speaking about diabetes and Obesity. I have published several articles on Diabetes and have been a guest speaker in several national and International diabetes and obesity conferences.
I currently serve as the Communications Director for American Diabetes Association’s Clinical Centers and Program Interest Group Leadership Team.
Additionally, I enjoy teaching and serve as a mentor for several medical students. My Keen interest as well as the death of my father from diabetes complications prompted me to form kisat Diabetes Organization, a Diabetes nonprofit with the mission to prevent diabetes complications through early screening and education. I recently published my book on Diabetes management and complications. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and plan to continue writing. I am currently enrolled in Harvard University Effective Writing Certification Program.
I am involved in the advisory roles in various settings and have experience working with a diverse group of people.
I have also served on the board of directors at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign moms association where my role was to review and select scholarship applications for students going for various leadership roles and scientific projects. Making selections for appropriate candidates for scholarships was great experience.
I am also a graduate of FBI Citizens academy program which is a program that involves community leaders form various fields to help FBI connect with the community. I was selected for this program as a community leader in health care setting.
