Monica Tarantino is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and practices small animal medicine in both general practice and emergency medicine settings. The daughter of an army officer, Monica grew up moving around the country before settling in Virginia. She pursued her MBA from UCSD and then her veterinary degree from Virginia Tech. She currently works in Charlotte, NC as a Fear Free certified doctor at an AAHA accredited small animal hospital. Monica has mentored new veterinarians for years and is passionate about bringing leadership skills and creative thinking to the profession to help overcome some of the hurdle’s new vets face. She works with coauthor Ashley through Vets on the Rise to help implement these changes and help future generations of veterinarians. In addition to helping up and coming veterinarians, Monica is also creator of the podcast called ‘Senior Dog Revolution’ that focuses on promoting the best life for older canines. She also writes and contributes to a number of digital publications. Her interests include preventative medicine, geriatric health, internal medicine and business leadership. When not at the clinic or working on Vets on the Rise, Dr. Tarantino can be found hanging out with her fiancé and gaggle of rescued animals. She owns four rescued dogs and two rescued cats with the occasional foster animal just to keep things lively! You can follow along with her veterinary journeys on @seniordogdoc or at seniordogrevolution.com
