Terry obtained his mathematics degree from the University of Washington in 1974. He developed an interest in the Riemann Hypothesis after reading John Derbyshire’s excellent book, "Prime Obsession". That lead to a careful study of Harold Edward’s book, "Riemann’s Zeta Function". After that, Terry was on a mission to find proofs that were as rigorous as Edward’s, but much easier to follow (for the mathematical hobbyist). The result was his first book: "A Study of Bernhard Riemann’s 1859 Paper". A similar philosophy is also evident in Terry’s follow-on book: "Complex Analysis: a Self-Study Guide". For both books, an errata page is maintained at riemann1859.com.
