Denise M. Rousseau is H.J. Heinz II University Professor at Carnegie Mellon and former Academy of Management (AOM) president. Her research focuses on organizational change and employment relationships and the teaching and practice of evidence-based management. She is co-founder of the Center for Evidence-based Management and noted in "Great Minds in Management" for developing psychological contract theory and the concept of idiosyncratic deals. She’s received lifetime achievement awards from AOM for scholarly contribution, service, and mentoring along with the SHRM’s Losey Award for Contributions to Scholarship and Practice and the Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychology’s Distinguished Scholarship Career Award. She’s excited to help promote broader use of scholarly evidence in organizational decisions and to advance new forms of practitioner scholarship. Denise believes that if more people developed POEMS (Practitioner-Oriented Evidence that Matters) the world would be a better place.
