A graduate of both the Naval Academy and US Naval War College, Tom retired after serving 32 years as a Navy Surface Warfare Officer. Now a full-time writer of nautical fiction, both historical and modern, he's completed two novels and begun work on a third. Unable to constrain himself to a single time period, his debut novel, Against All Enemies, is set in the near future, perhaps tomorrow. The story has won seven awards and received numerous five-star editorial reviews. His second novel, the first of a trilogy to be published over the next 24 months, takes place against the backdrop of the American Revolution. Following completion of the trilogy, his next work will be loosely based on his father's and two of his uncles' service during World War II. Tom lives in San Diego with his wife and daughter, a cat, and a dog. He spends what time he can on the water. In his diverse career, he has taught Coast Guard licensing courses at all levels; held licenses himself for Master of Vessels up to 1600GT; Second Mate, Unlimited Tonnage; and Master of Sailing Vessels up to 50GT; all were endorsed Upon Oceans. He also held a ticket as an Able Seaman, Unlimited. He founded and served as Executive Director for the Continental Navy Foundation, which conducted experiential education at sea for young people aged 13-17 years. Finally, he commanded the Foundation's tall ship, brigantine Megan D. Web: thomasmwing, Facebook: /ThomasMWingWriter/.
