Lori is a poet, writer, and author of the newly released inspirational children’s book, “The Power of One”. She began writing at the age of 9, and won her first award at the age of 12. As a 50th birthday present to herself, she enrolled in college to study Early Childhood Education. Her favourite class was Children’s Literature, which sparked a desire in her to write a children’s book. “The Power of One”, began as a personal poem from a grandmother to her grandson, meant to encourage him during a time when he was doubting himself, and his ability to make a difference in the world. Lori realized that the book’s empowering message, was one that needed to be shared with children around the world. Lori is a mother of 4, and grandmother of 5. She lives in Ontario, Canada, with her husband Frank, and their Golden Retrievers, Comet and Nevaeh. Her love of animals has called her to donate proceeds from each of her Power of One hardcovers (which can be purchased from her website) to her local Humane Society.
