Stefano Marino is Associate Professor of Aesthetics at the University of Bologna. His main research interests are focused on critical theory of society, hermeneutics, philosophical anthropology, neopragmatism and somaesthetics, aesthetics of fashion, and philosophy of music. He obtained his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Bologna in 2008. Before obtaining a permanent position at the University of Bologna as Associate Professor in 2019, he was granted postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Freiburg i.B. in 2009 and 2011, and at the University of Bologna from 2013 to 2015, and he was fixed-term researcher at the University of Bologna from 2016 to 2019. He is the author of several books, including: "La filosofia dei Radiohead. Musica, tecnica, anima" (2021), "Verità e non-verità del popular. Saggio su Adorno, dimensione estetica e critica della società" (2021), "Le verità del non-vero. Tre studi su Adorno, teoria critica ed estetica" (2019), "Aesthetics, Metaphysics, Language: Essays on Heidegger and Gadamer" (2015), "Aufklärung in einer Krisenzeit: Ästhetik, Ethik und Metaphysik bei Theodor W. Adorno" (2015), "La filosofia di Frank Zappa. Un’interpretazione adorniana" (2014), "Fusioni di orizzonti. Saggi su estetica e linguaggio in Hans-Georg Gadamer" (2012), and "Gadamer and the Limits of the Modern Techno-scientific Civilization" (2011). He has translated from German into Italian the books by Th. W. Adorno, "Variazioni sul jazz. Critica della musica come merce" (2018), H.-G. Gadamer, "Ermeneutica, etica, filosofia della storia" (2014), and H.-G. Gadamer, "Che cos’è la verità" (2012); and from English into Italian the books by C. Korsmeyer, "Il senso del gusto. Cibo e filosofia" (2015), and R. Shusterman, "Esperienza estetica e arti popolari" (2023). He is the editor of the Italian edition of the books by S. Gandesha and J.F. Hartle, "Marx estetico" (2020) and "L'incantesimo del capitale" (2023), and the co-editor of the English edition of the book by E. Fink, "Fashion: Seductive Play" (2023).
