Hello from JO HORNE (also writing as ANNA SCHMIDT--https://www.amazon.com/author/annaschmidt)! I write for one reason. Fame? Nope. $$$? Definitely not! I write because since I was a kid I found I could NOT not write! Fiction...nonfiction...memoir...screenplay? I've dabbled in all and loved every (well, almost every) moment of the journey. Because I'm an avid reader (check my blog--JO'S BOOK REVIEWS--at http://johorneauthor.com/blog), I am never without a book (or two) that I'm reading, usually at night before falling asleep. (Makes for some fascinating dreams!) As a history major, I also enjoy research. I think/hope we can learn from history, and I love finding untold true stories I can weave into a novel. The heroine of MONICA'S WAR was one such case of bringing history to life. Getting a graduate degree in theater (and working backstage professionally) ingrained in me the habit of seeing and hearing my characters. I don't outline anything. Instead, I just sit down and start writing--my characters tell me what they will (and won't) do.
