I am a native of southern California. I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Romania from 2005 to 2007. I earned a BA in History from Brigham Young University in 2009 and a MSc in the Second World World War in Europe from the University of Edinburgh in 2010. I was an Auschwitz Jewish Center fellow in 2013, a Fulbright student researcher in Romania from 2016 to 2017, and a Norman Raab Foundation fellow at the Mandel Center of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2017. I received my PhD in History from Texas A&M University in 2018. I worked for the US AMEDD (Army Medical Department) Center of History and Heritage from 2018 to 2021. I am currently employed by the US Army Center of Military History.
