Laura A. Huppert, MD (@laura_huppert) is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and a Breast Medical Oncologist. She received her MD from Harvard Medical School in 2015, completed Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at UCSF in 2019, and completed her Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at UCSF training in 2022. She started taking detailed Internal Medicine notes as a third year medical student, which she added to throughout residency as well. During her Chief Residency year, she recruited an incredible team of medical educators at UCSF to help update and transform these notes into the resource that it is today and published Huppert's Notes in May 2021. Huppert's Notes is designed to serve as a framework for learning Internal Medicine, with chapters for each core IM topic (e.g., cardiology, pulmonary, etc) that include bulleted notes on the following topics: 1) Anatomy & Physiology, 2) Diagnostics, 3) Approaches & Chief Complaints, 4) Diseases & Pathophysiology, 5) Key Medications and Interventions, 6) Key Clinical Trials and Publications, and 7) Space for your own notes. There are over 200 color diagrams and tables with up to date clinical information. The book is primarily intended for medical trainees, from medical/nursing students to those in IM residency, but practicing physicians can also benefit from this reference. We hope that it is a useful resource for all and welcome feedback!
