Pranavkrishna Bharanidharan is an avid young geography and history enthusiast. He first developed interest in geography when he was four years old, when he would play Scrabble with his father using the names of countries. He loved looking at maps as a kid and gradually developed his knowledge by doing research and studying books. He has also participated in various quiz bowl competitions in Geography, Science and History. He won the Bronze medal in the 2018 IGB Worlds Event held in Berlin, Germany. He was the champion of the 2022 Individual Player National Championship (IPNCT) held in Chicago. He was the top scorer of 2022 Middle School National Championship, with the highest points per game out of more than 600 players and was the sixth top scorer in 2024 High School National Championship out of more than 1600 players. He was the Junior Varsity Champion of 2023 National Geography Bee and 2024 National History Bee held in Virginia. He is a recipient of AP Scholar with Distinction and has received the President’s Volunteer Service Award bronze medal. He enjoys Chess, Academic Decathlon and Guitar.
