Andrea Laurent-Simpson is a Research Assistant Professor of sociology at Southern Methodist University. Her research interests include families and companion animals, identity, social construction of infectious diseases, and symbolic interaction. She lives in Texas with her husband, children, and three German Short Haired Pointers and loves hiking, downhill skiing, and hanging out with family.
