Gilbert Gleason is the nephew by marriage to Bert and Colleen Elliot, and served as their pastor for a large portion of their adult lives. He benefited personally from their friendship, support, and mentoring. And he in turn served and supported them, primarily by giving encouragement and assistance on the home front and through hands-on experience during his several visits to the ministry front lines in Peru. Gilbert has firsthand experience of missionary life, as he grew up among the Navajo in northern Arizona, where his parents were missionaries for forty years. He teaches missions classes for "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" where he served as an adjunct professor for Trinity International University and Western Seminary. He is also a board member of the Elisabeth Elliot Foundation. He has pastored Grace Bible Fellowship in Portland, Oregon for forty years. He earned a BA from Biola University and an MDiv from Western Seminary.
