Darryl James

Darryl James is a retired petroleum executive in the oil and gas industry. He earned a BS and MS in geology from Rutgers University before serving as Army Captain and combat helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He worked himself through Rutgers by playing guitar in a rock band on weekends.

His books include the following:

Phoenix 13 - a biography of piloting his scout helicopter during his yearlong tour in Vietnam. Penn and Sword released the book in January 2021.

Prey of the Leopard - Leopard Series 1- a hi-tech military thriller featuring a KBG trained assassin, Dr. Olga Romanov, aka the Leopard.

The Hubcaps – Out of the Garage: Jersey’s 60s Garage Band. One of the earliest “garage bands” from Central Jersey in the early 1960s. The author made enough money playing guitar to pay for six years of college, earning BS and MS degrees. Some stories are cheeky and some humorous through his musical journey.
