Haley Straw

Haley has always considered herself to be a bit, shall we say, abnormal. She prefers simplicity over complexity, family over friends, hard work over relaxation, and in many instances, the old-fashioned ways of doing things over the modern ways; especially when it comes to childrearing and healing. Haley never set out to author a book, let alone a series of books (more coming soon), but upon getting to know the Amish, and sharing those experiences with her children, she just had to make a record. As they say, truth is stranger than fiction, and the only thing we can take with us when we leave this world is our relationships and our memories. A graduate of BYU Idaho, and originally from Oregon State, she and her family now live on a ten-acre hobby farm surrounded by their Amish friends in rural Missouri. In addition to spending time with her family, and driving Amish, she enjoys traveling (yes, even without the Amish in tow), reading, biking, foraging, crocheting, and teaching wilderness survival classes at her children’s private school.
