William Frej

Mr. Frej’s award-winning fine art photography book on Maya ruins and an early Maya explorerand photographer, Teobert Maler, Maya Ruins Revisited: In the Footsteps of Teobert Maler, (Peyton Wright Press, publisher/University of Oklahoma Press, distributor) was published in October 2020 and printed at EBS Editoriale Bortolazzi Stei in Verona, Italy. His second project, a fine art photography book, Seasons of Ceremonies: Rites and Rituals in Guatemala and Mexico, was published by the Museum of New Mexico Press in September 2021. His third book, Travels Across the Roof of the World: A Himalayan Memoir, was published by George Thompson Publications in November 2022. His photographic work is represented in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, including Yale’s Special Collections at the Beinecke Rare Book Library; the Green Library at Stanford University; the Bancroft Library at the University of California Berkeley; the Zimmerman Library’s Special Collections at the University of New Mexico; the San Francisco Arts Commission; and the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
