Alexander Michael is a writer of speculative fiction. He is influenced by a great many things, but what fuels his work is simply witnessing nature in its most raw forms. There is an endless supply of stories to be told, and the open sky is a wellspring. His fiction mostly deals with the truth of things: the midnight occurrences unseen by most; how the past has its claws in us, even when we deny it; and the magic that can still be found if we open our eyes in time. He lives in Brisbane with his Labrador, Link, and an assortment of birds and beasts. ‘Transformations: A Collection’ is his first published work.
