Albert Tate is a prolific pastor, public speaker, podcast host, and Mississippi native. He accepted his call to ministry at age 21 and subsequently graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from Wesley Bible College. Tate is currently working towards a Master’s degree at Fuller Theological Seminary, in Pasadena, California. Raised in the church, Tate began preaching at Sunday services and led retreats for people eager to grow closer to Jesus. He soon followed God’s call to Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, California and swiftly moved from Youth to Senior Youth Pastor, to the Sunday night service Pastor, to Intergenerational Pastor where he essentially functioned as a Teaching Pastor. In 2011, Tate left Lake Avenue to found Fellowship Monrovia in Monrovia, California. Since its inception, Fellowship has been blessed with a loyal and ever-growing congregation that includes over 20,000 viewers that attend online services each week. Outside of the pulpit, Tate often speaks at camps, colleges, and revivals. His speaking engagements have taken him across the nation and abroad to places like South Africa, Thailand, China, and Ecuador. Tate is deeply involved in international church planting and is the teaching pastor at Willow Creek Church. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Azusa Pacific University, the Advisory Council of the Fuller Youth Institute, and he is a board member of Stadia Church Planting Network and the Global Leadership Network. He is the CEO of The Greatest Story, Inc., Discipling Out Racism, and the Preaching Masterclass, and serves as President of Harambee Ministries, founded by Dr. John Perkins. Tate also hosts the Albert Tate Podcast and Good News Today. The Albert Tate Podcast features prominent Christian leaders and voices in conversation with Tate on relevant topics while Good News Today, a live weekday morning devotional show, was started as an encouraging morning devotional at the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic. It has since evolved into an interactive community and a necessary reminder that God is in control in all seasons and situations. In a visit to Fellowship Monrovia, Ray Johnston of Bayside Church said that Tate could very well be “the most influential Christian in America in the next twenty years.” Tate works tirelessly not to prove Mr. Johnston right, but to ensure that through all things, God is glorified.
