Peter Ernst Paul Heimstaedt, among fellow seafarers better known as 'Captain Pete', is a German Master Mariner with 12 years active seafaring experience both in merchant shipping and the Navy. With a rich background in managing operations of dry cargo ships, he was assigned as Field Surveyor and Auditor with a leading classification society and has been involved in a variety of exceptional project shipments. Moreover, Capt. Pete was an accredited Flag State Inspector as well as a Senior Surveyor assigned by non-governmental organizations. His broad range of activities include a 10-years term as Honorary Assessor of the German Maritime Board of Inquiry. In most recent years he rendered his professional advice and business support as Executive Management Consultant to emerging shipping companies in the Philippines. On top of that, he developed a modern eLearning programme for heavy cargo operations on behalf of a prominent maritime training facility. Aside from these hands-on activities, Peter is an author of articles and studies related to the sea, which have been published in German and foreign magazines and professional networks. His favourite hobby is wreck diving and research into the fates of war wrecks.
