Jake has a particular interest in the philosophy of science and contributed a chapter to The Magician's Twin: C.S. Lewis on Science, Scientism, and Society. This is a book concerning C.S. Lewis' writings about science, its origin, and scientism as a belief system in society. Jake's chapter is C.S. Lewis, Science, and the Medieval Mind. Jake did research using C.S. Lewis' personal library at the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College in Chicago for this book, which involved reading what Lewis underlined, wrote in the margins, and wrote on the front and back pages of his books. Jake also edited the book Lectures on Natural Theology byThomas Reid. Thomas Reid was a Scottish philosopher who gave lectures on natural theology in the spring of 1780 at Glasgow University, where one of his students took meticulous notes. This book is a rendition of those notes, comprising 15 chapters. The notes are currently kept in the special collections department at Glasgow's Mitchell Library. Jake is the president of SuccessfulStudent.org, a website dedicated to helping students make informed college and degree decisions. Jake lives outside of Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and two kids. Jake graduated with a bachelor of science in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington.
