Julia Flaherty

Julia Flaherty is a creative and clever storyteller whose first book was published in 2021. The children's book series "Rosie Becomes a Warrior" is a passion project of Flaherty's after having lived with type 1 diabetes since she was 10-years-old. "Rosie Becomes a Warrior" children's books have been featured on Beyond Type 1, T1D Exchange, the summer 2023 issue of Diabetes Self-Management magazine, WBAY-TV 2 (Green Bay, WI news channel), Thrivable, the Dear Diabetes Podcast, the Happy Type One Podcast, and the Not Your Type Podcast. The first book in the series was selected for the 2022 Fox Cities Book Festival in the heart of the valley of Wisconsin and has been showcased at various read-aloud events hosted by public libraries and JDRF chapters. Flaherty aims to develop other works within and outside the series to serve different communities and impact goals. Flaherty's writing is especially well-known within the diabetes and wellness spaces, though she has also made significant contributions to the professional services industry.
