I was born and raised in Poland. My entire family still lives here. When I was a teenager, I dreamed of leaving my home country. I wanted to live abroad, speak different languages, get to know new cultures. Poland was too predictable for me, most Poles seemed to be too narrow-minded. At the age of 20, I met the love of my life, Patryk. We were both students in the charming Krakow. He is Polish as well. And just like me, he wanted to travel and see the world. It wasn’t long when we started to live our dream. We opened up an online business and became digital nomads. We had no home for 4 years. Traveling changed us. It changed our perspectives and the way we see our home country. What was boring in the past, became exciting. We understood that there is nothing better than the smell of spring in Poland. That watching the sunset on the Baltic sea beach can’t be compared to anything else. That Polish bread is something we craved every day. And, unfortunately, we couldn’t get it abroad. When I found out I was pregnant in 2017, we decided to make Poland our base. We bought an apartment in Rzeszow, a lovely town in the southeastern part of the country. Of course, we couldn’t stay home for too long. We’ve been traveling with our baby girl but since she was born we started to call Poland our home. In 2020, a new traveler joined our family- baby boy Kostek. To be honest, we still have a love-hate relationship with Poland. There are some things that we just can’t accept like the intolerance to being different (for example gay, black, etc.). We hate the government policy and how hard it is to run a business in Poland. On the other hand, we love the Polish mentality, how strong the Poles are. We love Polish sense of humor and of course… Polish food.
