JAMES D. EVANS was the first member of his family to attend college. He loves the world of higher learning so much that he has spent most of his career living and working in it as one of its most enthusiastic denizens. After earning three degrees in psychology, including a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, he became a university professor who always places the students’ education at the top of his priorities. When he is not teaching, he is learning, conducting scholarly research, consulting, and writing articles and books. During a later stage of his career Evans was “conscripted” into academic administration, where he held various positions, including those of dean, chief academic officer, and university president. He has served on dozens of community boards and councils during both his faculty tenure and his administrative years, and he has received numerous honors and public recognitions for his teaching prowess and leadership in higher education. Dr. Evans, who is Professor Emeritus at Lindenwood University, holds life-time memberships in the American Psychological Association, the Midwestern Psychological Association, and the Psychonomic Society.
