José Francisco Ávila

José Francisco Ávila is a Garifuna/Afro-Latino author, independent author and publisher, and prominent Garifuna/Afro-Latino social justice activist. He was born in Honduras and raised in Boston, MA. He is the author of the book Pan-Garifuna Pan Afro Latino Power of Pride: My Quest for Racial, Ancestral, Ethnic and Cultural Identity. His passion for untold Garifuna/Afro-Latino(a) stories, led him to publish his first book. He lives in New York City with his wife, they have four adult children and two beautiful granddaughters. He is managing Partner of Garifuna Afro-Latino Entertainment LLC and specializes in the Literary Arts, expression of written ideas across Page, Stage and Screen, including Non-Fiction, Short Fiction, Novel, Poetry, Scriptwriting and Graphic Novel. He is interested in discovering underrepresented authors, stories or other content, creators, of copyrighted works. He attended Bentley University, where he received his BS in Accounting.
