Sahasranam Kalpathy

Dr. K. V. Sahasranam was a retired Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Former Chief of Medical Services in a Multispecialty hospital in Calicut, Kerala. He holds an M.D. degree in General Medicine and a Doctorate in Cardiology. He has a professional experience of over 45 years and is the author of more than forty scientific papers in National and International Journals.

His first book was titled, “Tell Me a Story, Grandpa.” Written under the name ‘Sahasranam Kalpathy’, this book is a collection of short stories which he has gathered over years from his parents, grandparents and various other sources like magazines, Indian Mythology, religious discourses, and from friends and teachers. He has ventured to compile them into an anthology of short stories for his grandchildren and children of ages 9 to 12. He has been greatly influenced writing these stories from the Moral Science classes of his teachers in St Joseph’s Boys High School in Calicut where he studied.

His second book in the series of Short Stories for Children is titled "Grandpa, Tell Me More Stories" and is written in the same style as his first book of short stories.

His third Book is titled "In Search of a Bridegroom" which is an Autobiographical Fiction based on his personal experiences when he was on the look out for a suitable groom for his daughter. It is a book laced with incidents both hilarious and thought provoking.

He has authored 15 books so far both in the Fiction and Non-Fiction genre ranging from religious books about Hinduism, Problems of the Elderly to books on Management in hospitals.

He is happily married and lives with his wife in Dallas, Texas, USA and is leading a retired life. He engages himself writing books, blogs and taking online classes for medical students in Udemy. His two daughters are well settled and live in the United States of America.
