Dr. Knapp is currently serving as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health and as Senior Advisor - Adult Programs, Office of the Secretary, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Commonwealth of Kentucky. His current professional endeavors are rooted in 37 years of practice as a licensed nursing home administrator, ranging from managing stand-alone skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers to leading continuing care retirement communities and a multi-site senior living organization. He is the past board chair of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) and its affiliated foundation, the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Long-Term Care Administrators, and Leading Age Kentucky. He earned his undergraduate degree in arts and sciences and doctorate in gerontology from the University of Kentucky, and his MHA from Xavier (OH) University. Dr. Knapp is a licensed and ACHCA-certified nursing home administrator, a Fellow of ACHCA and holds the Health Services Executive (HSE) qualification awarded by NAB. He was honored in 2006 by ACHCA as its national "Distinguished Administrator of the Year."
