Idil Ismail is a high school teacher and Somali-American author. Idil has always been a lover of books and travel. Prior to becoming a public school teacher, she worked in the area of monitoring and evaluation for international development agencies. Throughout her career she has lived and worked in 8 different countries. She is especially passionate about reaching young black readers and helping them find representation in the books they read.
