Mary de Chesnay

关于作者

Mary de Chesnay, PhD, RN, PMH-BC, FAAN is a nurse-anthropologist who retired from an academic career and moved to sunny Arizona in the hopes of never again having to drive in snow. Now she makes jewelry for animal rescues and other organizations to sell for their fund-raising under the watchful supervision of Travis, the Airedale, and Tina Turner, the Shih Tzu. Having published several books on vulnerable populations, sex trafficking, research methods, and global health policy, she successfully procrastinated writing during retirement until the pandemic when she reviewed the story of Balto and Togo, the dogs who were heroes of the Great Serum Run to Nome, Alaska during the 1925 diphtheria epidemic. Inspired by the heroic Covid-19 nurses and doctors of the present day, she wrote the story of Emily Morgan, the nurse who actually administered the serum to the villages surrounding Nome. Without enough material for a scholarly book, she wrote Emily's story for children. She is now working on a series of stories about Angel Dogs- sent to earth to help people-again written for children.
