Celeste is a mother and early childhood educator. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has published four children's books, and founder of Shining Lamp Press and Big Wonder Child Care. Celeste is passionate about high-quality early childhood literature because she believes stories are powerful tools to cultivate critical thinking, empathy, understanding, loving identities, and spiritual inquiry.
Children's stories are culture generators and are needed to counter the oppressive narratives found in early childhood. Celeste believes that when we provide children with storytelling that challenges oppressive norms and cultivates virtues, we provide authenticity and freedom for identity exploration and self-expression. We all benefit from the freedom to live a life of authenticity by removing bias and injecting love into our hearts and communities.
When we engage children, we transform the future.
