Carl Barrett was born in 1981 in Riverside, California. From an early age he developed a strong passion for cooking because of his father, Mark Barrett, a professional chef. After school Carl went to visit his father in the restaurant where he worked, learning as much as he could from his father's talent. As the years went by, his passion for good food did not wane, but was put aside in favor of studying financial economics at the University of Chicago, which Carl completed with honors. This degree gets him a job at U.S. Bancorp bank, but Carl is not happy: he has learned the most important concepts of finance, he is able to create effective business plans for businesses that come to him for advice, but his heart is always tied to his love for food. Carl decides to try his luck, abandoning a job that guarantees him security and prestige, diving into an entirely new venture. But time is short, the money to invest is certainly not infinite and opening a restaurant involves a risk too high to be borne in case things do not go well. And this is where the idea was born: a travelling kitchen able to serve food in every corner of the country, requiring a negligible initial investment and allowing customers to taste the food that Carl prepares with passion. Carl Barrett is just another man who decided he no longer wanted to work an alienating job to follow his passion. Now he wants you to follow your dream, which is why he decided to write down all of his knowledge and mistakes, to help those on this path find their way to success.
