Mondin was born in Bay City, Michigan and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he currently resides with his wife Emily and sons Henrik, Ira, and Soren. He writes for both children and adults.
After studying Profession Writing at Taylor University he worked in digital marketing before transitioning into the field of software engineering. He now manages a team of web developers and designers.
Besides writing, Mondin has too many hobbies and is always looking to add another one. He’s played the drums for 20 years and been in local bands such as Brady’s Closet, Streetlamps for Spotlights, and Grisham. On Sundays he plays ice hockey, where he keeps getting injured and is seriously considering switching to coaching for his 8-year-old son Henrik’s team. He also enjoys brewing beer when not trying to quit drinking altogether and has recently taken up shooting squirrels out of trees in his front yard and then cooking them on his off-brand Green Egg smoker. Mondin’s wife Emily has helped develop his interest in travel, though he’d still prefer to go back to one of the places they’ve already been (Sedona, Napa Valley, Traverse City, Asheville, Punta Cana) rather than take her to Europe.
