Randal Henry is an author, speaker, store owner and the founder of Community Intelligence, an afrocentric - health policy, advocacy and research - consulting and book publishing firm. Randal graduated from UCLA with a doctorate of public health in health disparities research and a master of public health in community health sciences. He also holds a BA in Political Science from Cal Poly Pomona. Prior to starting Community Intelligence, Randal worked in a variety of jobs including Analyst, Director, Epidemiologist, Evaluator, Health Educator/Planner, Injury Prevention Specialist, Investigator, Program/Project Director, and Researcher. Randal has authored/co-authored numerous scientific articles, morbidity/mortality reports and several books including Born in South LA; C is for Capoeira; Go Crenshaw; Go South LA; and Happened in South LA. Randal lives in South LA’s Crenshaw District with his beloved wife and family. He loves LA, encyclopedias, traveling, the beach, snow-capped mountains, camping on Catalina Island, all kinds of food, top shelf tequila/whiskey/bourbon, IPA’s, skiing, martial arts (capoeira, hapkido, Filipino & Southeast Asian), history, Kung Fu movies, family, and friends.
