Megan Fontanella (she/her) is an art historian and curator whose research encompasses late nineteenth- through mid-twentieth-century European and U.S. avant-gardes, with a particular focus on dealer networks and collecting patterns. At the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, she has organized or co-organized over thirty exhibitions for the institution’s constellation of museums in New York, Bilbao, Venice, and previously Berlin. Additionally, she conducts collections research focusing on institutional history and the provenance of artworks. Fontanella graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in art history modified with history, and received her MA in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, where she specialized in late 19th-century French art. She is a member of the Board of Advisors at the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth.
