Giovanni Organtini is Associate Professor of Experimental Physics at Sapienza Università di Roma. He is a member of the CMS Collaboration at the CERN's LHC, which discovered the Higgs boson in 2012. Formerly, he worked in the L3 experiment at LEP. In 2014, Giovanni joined the PADME experiment at the INFN Frascati National Laboratories to search for new fundamental forces (dark photons). He served as the Director of the Sapienza Museum of Physics and coordinated the in-service training programmes for school physics teachers, inventing the Schools of Physics with Arduino and Smartphones. He is involved in a few important outreach programs and is an editor of FISICAST: a physics podcast (in Italian).
He is the proud father of Lorenzo and Giulia and the happy husband of Federica. The Organtinis like to travel, taste and experience local cuisines, visiting art exhibitions and enjoying the beauties of nature.
