Hello,
I have been a collector of Japanese things, including kimono, for many years now.
I created a series of books with the subject of kimono designs from the past based on original kimono design books.
These design books are known as HINAGATABON, which is a generic term for sample or pattern book for not only kimono but also for other subjects.
Because my main interest is kimono, I decided to make available some of these HINAGATABON that I have in my collection in a format that can be bought by everybody interested in Japanese design in general or just kimono, but also for people that love kimono and love colouring them.
The books are reformatted to A4 size, to show as much detail from the designs as possible and the designs have not been touched or changed, only enlarged and where possible cleaned without changing anything. This may result in imperfect images in some cases, but authentic ones, which is what matters to me most.
I mainly want to share these books so that everybody can enjoy them and have found rare books that are available to use from other sources, to complete a series about a period in Japan in which many of these books were produced.
The originals of these books are hard to find and if you can find them they are normally rather expensive because there are not that many that have survived the passing of time. My books make them available to everybody interested in these designs.
Enjoy!
