Kimber Shelton PhD

Dr. Kimber Shelton is a Licensed Psychologist, Author, and Speaker. She is the owner of KLS Counseling & Consulting Services in Texas and specializes in cultural diversity, LGBTQ issues, relationships, and trauma. Her work focuses on improving the quality of services provided to minoritized groups and advancing mental health professionals' cultural competence. Dr. Shelton is an award-winning psychologist, including A Handbook on Counseling African American Women being awarded the AWP 2023 Distinguished Publication of the Year Award and she was listed as a 2022 Texas Psychological Association Citizen Psychologist. She is the author/co-editor of two books, has numerous book chapters and journal articles, and has contributed to articles on major media outlets. Dr. Shelton earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia and MS in Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University.
