Hi! My name is Reece Kimble and I’m a history buff and world traveler who is passionate about the lived experiences behind historical dates and figures. I compare the past and present to teach readers about how much we have in common with historical people. I’m endlessly intrigued by the way history repeats itself, and I believe that historical knowledge is an important way to keep humanity from making the same mistakes. I have a lifelong fascination with sociology and anthropology which has given me a deep appreciation for every stage of human progression and the struggles that go along with them. My ultimate hope is to remind my readers that history isn’t over: It’s how our ancestors lived which, in turn, changes who we are and how we live. We are not as far removed from it as we may feel when we sit in a history class! This realization inspired me to pursue historical writing, so I can share my expertise and worldly experiences with others. I have been to 96 countries so far, and I’m excited to continue learning and exploring. I have a deep love for humanity across all cultures and time periods, and that love motivates me to try and make the world a better place. When I’m not writing or seeing the world, you can find me cuddling with my rescue cats, enjoying quality family time, going for walks, or wine tasting. I also love cooking, painting modern art, and music. I live in Hawaii and have two adult children.
