Roy Stone Falconer for over 30 years and kept and flown various species in the UK and also Spain. Falconry is a passion that is hard to explain and once tried it becomes an addiction for many. I started off with the female Harris Hawk, but over the years had the chance to fly many species and even night time hunting with Owls. After many years gaining experience I learnt but also made mistakes, and that is why I have put together some simple but very useful books. We all know how important it is to recognize the correct flying weight, but I noticed also that the same bird can prefer different Locations and weather conditions. I suppose it's just like us liking a certain food but choosing a preferred restaurant. So keeping records and logs is such an important part of falconry and knowing your bird. Like me I used to take for granted I had a bad day or my bird was not willing, but keeping records help so much in understanding why!.
