Raquel McCloud

Drawing from her personal experience, Raquel began using her Instagram platform in 2020 to educate and offer relatability. She has since had the opportunity to speak with thousands of adoptive parents, foster and kinship caregivers, birthmothers and adoptees. In addition to the adoption and kinship focused children’s books, Raquel believes strongly in the restorative narrative and peer to peer messaging. She has spoke for numerous adoption agencies, led multiple library programs, been the guest speaker for several podcasts, published many long-form articles. As a former child of kinship care, a birthmom in reunion, and a kinship adoptive mom Raquel uses her lived experience to cultivate resources and community. Her passion for advocacy and education are only surpassed by her desire to encourage hope and healing.
