Emily Powell

关于作者

Emily Powell is a contemporary colourist painter whose work bursts with joie de vivre. Colour and creativity fill her paintings which span diverse themes, rampaging across the boundaries between observation and imagination. Powell's subjects surround her in life and include characterful animals, uplifting flowers, fishermen observed from her seaside window and the coastal landscapes of Devon. The latest direction Powell has taken is to develop complex abstracts using her exquisite understanding of colour. These genres combine to form a running monologue on what it's like to be a woman living in contemporary society. Emily went to Norwich School of Art for her formal training with a sabbatical at the Ecole Régionale des Beaux-Arts de Rouen (2008-2011). Emily has exhibited with the Royal Society of Art, collaborated with MoMA and the British Museum and was part of the 2020 BBC Documentary for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition show. Emily's current work was featured in Harper's Bazaar magazine in December 2020.
