
Roman Friedrich was born in New York City and attended university at Rutgers College where he majored in English Literature. He currently lives in Rancho Santa Fe California from where he enjoys travel, golf and good food with his wife and their faithful dog “Twiggy”. In his early career, he spent many years in the International Department at Chase Manhattan Bank where he had the opportunity to travel the world. While at Chase, he attended New York University School of Business. Eventually, he established his own investment banking firm specializing in the mining industry during which time he was appointed to many company boards of directors. He was a member of the Board of Trustees to the Guggenheim Family of mutual funds for twenty years. On retiring from the investment banking business in 2017 he began a career as a writer. He attended university at the University of California San Diego taking courses in the History Department. As an author he has written three biographies in the series "Lives of the Knights in the Hundred Years War', which include biographies of Sir Hugh Calveley; William Montagu, the First Earl of Salisbury; and William Montagu, The Second Earl of Salisbury. In addition to these three biographies, Roman has also written five books in the series, "Exploring the History, Art and Music of: Iberia; The Holy Roman Empire; Bologna and Venice; and two on France.
