Peggy Sias Lantz is a Florida native with many interests and activities who has written hundreds of articles about them: music, horses and riding, leathercraft, and Florida nature, history, and people. The articles led to her being editor for the magazines of two environmental organizations, which resulted in her first published book, The Young Naturalist's Guide to Florida, now in its second edition, and a second book, The Florida Water Story: Wetlands, Coastline, Coral Reefs, and Ocean. A Florida Master Naturalist, Peggy wrote small books for nature organizations. A booklet about edible plants caught the attention of University Press of Florida, resulting in Florida's Edible Wild Plants. Meanwhile, her father told her stories about growing up in the early 1900s near Lake Lucy west of Orlando. They became Lake Lucy Tales. And stories from the Orlando Historical Society sparked her interest in historical events that included a young person. The book is called Adventure Tales from Florida's Past. In April 2022 Peggy was honored for lifetime achievement in botanical excellence for writings, research, teaching, and land stewardship. https://peggysiaslantz.com
