Juan Pablo Quiñonez is a survival expert and outdoor professional with over 10 years of experience in outdoor recreation and survival. His outdoor and survival experiences include backpacking the entire Pacific Crest Trail (2,650 miles) in 99 days; paddling over 1,500 miles during numerous remote whitewater canoe trips; living for six months in the wild with his partner, foraging to complement their meager rations; spending 100 days foraging in solitude during the winter in the boreal forest (supported only by small rations); and being the Season 9 winner of the survival series ALONE. He holds a degree in Applied Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership. Juan Pablo loves adventure, enjoys type 2 fun, and is passionate about living off the land. He believes it’s important to practice and share the skills and wisdom of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. In his eyes, strengthening a genuine connection to the land is essential for resilience in this age of ecological disruption and the decline of global civilization.
